ART HOUSED

I’m honored to have been interviewed by Allison Berg for the June issue of Hamptons Magazine. The article breaks down 30 of my favorite artists to collect for three popular Hamptons-style homes: Postmodern Barn, Traditional Shingle, and Contemporary. I began exhibiting young artists from the School of Visual Arts New York in a Wall Street space in 2010 and as uptown collectors migrated downtown to view the art, I witnessed many becoming interested in acquiring the real estate that housed it. Since that time, I seized the moment to differentiate myself from the mushrooming field of art advisers. For over a decade, I’ve been creating beautiful art collections to enhance real estate.

How Is Art Valued?

As I was settling into my west coast life in Los Angeles over the last year, I had time to reflect on the next steps for my business.  One day during a conversation with a friend, something triggered me and I recognized that the knowledge I had been sharing exclusively with clients seemed to be limiting the growth of my business.  At that moment, I made the decision to launch a video series to share my knowledge more broadly in a public forum.  Three months in, I have grown more confident to carve out a video series that is beginning to resonate.  The third video “How Art Is Valued” provides three tips to keep in mind when valuing a piece of art.

GET TO KNOW: LA-BASED ARTIST, THANKYOUX

When I discovered ThankYouX’s process is painting while listening to music, I wanted to get to know him better. It’s beautiful how music allows stories and sensations to flow through our bodies! ThankYouX gets lost in the colors and lets the can or brush lead his entire body to paint an interpretation of the songs he hears and feels. For the month of November, I’m very proud to have curated the new exhibition, ‘Guided by Sound’ for Soho House West Hollywood. I also included ThankYouX in Episode 2: Top 5 Emerging and Mid Career Artists now on IGTV and YouTube so check it out!

Get To Know: NY & Tel-Aviv Based Painter, Rotem Reshef

In the Spring of 2010 I was introduced to process-driven abstract action painter Rotem Reshef. In 2011, I was hired by an interior designer to help build a collection of artworks for a new home in the Utah desert. Over the last 8 years, I have been blessed to advise collectors who have purchased works from: New York, Florida, Oklahoma, Utah, and California. Her latest collaboration at Soho House West Hollywood, features 22 paintings which depict the elusive nature of time and of the fleeting four seasons. “Spectrum” is on view (by appointment only) during the month of July.
