Spectrum of Light

Rotem Reshef works rather physically with her works, pouring various watercolors down onto her canvas on the floor. Her works are known for their expressive and vibrant use of color. Through techniques such as pouring, incorporating both organic and manufactured objects layered into her works, and creating three dimensional pieces, Reshef aims to create a discussion about the planet and her works tie back to not only how the seasons represent a passing of time, but also tie into themes of global warming and how these individual seasons ultimately work together.

I’m honored to have been interviewed by Allison Berg for the June issue of Hamptons Magazine. The article breaks down 30 of my favorite artists to collect for three popular Hamptons-style homes: Postmodern Barn, Traditional Shingle, and Contemporary. I began exhibiting young artists from the School of Visual Arts New York in a Wall Street space in 2010 and as uptown collectors migrated downtown to view the art, I witnessed many becoming interested in acquiring the real estate that housed it. Since that time, I seized the moment to differentiate myself from the mushrooming field of art advisers. For over a decade, I’ve been creating beautiful art collections to enhance real estate.

How Is Art Valued?

As I was settling into my west coast life in Los Angeles over the last year, I had time to reflect on the next steps for my business.  One day during a conversation with a friend, something triggered me and I recognized that the knowledge I had been sharing exclusively with clients seemed to be limiting the growth of my business.  At that moment, I made the decision to launch a video series to share my knowledge more broadly in a public forum.  Three months in, I have grown more confident to carve out a video series that is beginning to resonate.  The third video “How Art Is Valued” provides three tips to keep in mind when valuing a piece of art.

AT HOME IN HOLLYWOOD

This March I was introduced to Interior Designer David Brian Sanders through mutual friends in LA.  Walking into his Melrose office, I was greeted by his adorable little dog and as I knelt to pet him, I heard this kind voice from the other room who hailed, "Be right there!
